AVP Risk Management Auditor
The AVP Risk Management Auditor is responsible for executing the audit coverage for Bank’ s US enterprise risk management program consisting of market, credit, operational risks with a peer link to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance (“ risk management program”).
The coverage of the risk management program includes the organization’ s risk taking strategy, risk governance, the individual risk dimensions, policies, procedures, practices and reporting/escalation. The coverage responsibilities pertain to audits of the US enterprise functions and attendant risks undertaken in the lines of business, both of which have dependencies on operations and technology.
The AVP Risk Management Auditor will: contribute to the audit coverage strategy for the risk management program, including risk governance, contribute to the risk-based audit plan and applies audit methodologies for program coverage, conduct scheduled audits of risk management and risk governance, implement continuous monitoring of risk management and other risks, apply audit standards and evolving regulatory expectations, communicate and report on risks and controls pertaining to the risk management program, track and validate risk management program issues, directs audit enhancements resulting from the quality assurance improvement program and serves as a resource and guides development of junior auditors and new hires.
We are looking for someone with 7 years of experience in a control, risk or audit role, including in-business risk management at a large banking organization with a strong baseline understanding of market, credit and operational risks from a control and mitigation perspective.
Should have a Bachelor’ s degree, Master’ s preferred in a business/quantitative discipline. The ideal candidate should have experience in applying or evaluating the efficacy of control frameworks including Basel risk management and capital requirements, US bank regulatory standards, heightened expectations of the OCC, enhanced prudential standards of the Federal Reserve System, among others. S/he should have a proven capability in executing multiple deliverables preferably within a highly matrixed structure where planning, management and strong interpersonal skills were critical to success. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management.
Experience in ensuring documentary sufficiency of analytical procedures to support audit standards and bank regulatory expectations and familiarity with risk applications and metrics for retail and commercial banking are required.
The candidate should have experience using computer assisted auditing tools or performing computer modeling to evaluate assertions and an ability to build rapport with internal stakeholders and examiners. A capability and willingness to develop staff on technical and soft skills is also required. CFA/CPA/Certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals, PRMIA/experience as a bank examiner is a plus.
