AVP/VP Internal Audit/Quality Assurance

(Expanding foreign bank in Manhattan)

The AVP/VP will be responsible for supporting the team to conduct Quality Assurance reviews of internal audit activities including BSA/AML projects.

The AVP/VP will be responsible for prompting efforts to enhance audit standards and to update the department’ s policies, procedures including the Audit Manual.

S/he will also assist in the audit issue follow up process including maintaining the internal audit issue database and tracking issue remediation status.

The AVP/VP will update the audit strategy and program, perform quality assurance, report key performance metrics and key risk metrics and assist in annual auditor training plans.

We are looking for someone with at least 5-7 years of work experience with relevant experience in designing, implementing and supporting business transformations with a strong controls orientation.

A Bachelor’ s degree or above (Master’ s preferred) is preferred with strong  planning, coordination and project management capabilities for a risk, control, technology or audit banking function.   The candidate should have confidence  and presence to apply indirect influence to attain department goals, excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management. 

S/he should be a proven  process manager with an established track record of overseeing and executing multiple deliverables  and understand  multiple disciplines associated with banking activities.

Experience in developing and maintaining reporting metrics and dashboards for executive management and/or committees is required. In addition, the candidate should have  significant knowledge of audit professional practices, risk and control standards, policies and US banking regulations, knowledge  and  capability and willingness to develop staff, including new hires, on audit standards.

The candidate should also have experience  in developing business requirements for internal or external parties and guiding a systems implementation life cycle with IT stakeholders.  CPA, CIA, CAMS, commissioned examiner or equivalent is a plus.
