Chief Representative, Toronto Rep Office/Real Estate Finance Relationship Manager

Great opportunity to help create a new business. Our client, a foreign bank, is opening a new office in Toronto seeking and seeking a Chief Representative to run the office and act as the Real Estate Finance Relationship Manager.

  The Chief Representative leads and supervises the activities of bank’ s Representative Office in Toronto.

The responsibilities include maintaining proper conduct of the operations and staff, as well as ensuring adherence to all Canadian laws and regulations .

As the Real Estate Finance Relationship Manager, the responsibilities include coordinating and managing all of the Canadian real estate finance marketing activities of bank.

  • Optimization of the structure and workflow of the operations in the Toronto Representative Office.
  • Management of the efficient and cost effective operation of the Representative Office.
  • Representation of bank in the public and private sectors.
  • Coordination of the proper adherence to all controlling and accounting activities according to the internal and external regulations.
  • Implementation of Head Office initiatives in the Toronto Representative office .
  • The leadership, development and motivation of all employees.
  • Establishment of a culture of compliance by actively promoting adherence to the Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance, other bank policies and procedures, and all applicable legal or supervisory regulations.

Relationship Management
  • Represent the bank in the Canadian market and coordinate all marketing activities in the region.
  • Leverage primarily banks’ s existing direct global client relationships and establish new client relationships in the market.
  • Maintain significant customer/co-lender relationships as well as expanding and marketing for target relationships with all clients doing business in Canada.

  • Marketing and customer/account management, real estate fundamentals and issues and knowledge of legal issues.
  • Group management, strategic planning and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of compliance-related issues, especially money laundering and local regulations
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English, French language a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in similar role
  • Bachelor’ s Degree or equivalent
  • MBA a plus
