Compliance Analyst – Nested Relationship – Associate

(located in Manhattan)


This role reports to the BSA Officer. The Nested Relationship team in FID executes name screening research on Correspondent Banking customer’ s nested relationship for new and existing customers.

This team works closely with Account Officer team and LCD EDD team to mitigate risks associated with CB nested relationships.
Major Responsibilities:
  Conducts name searches on nested relationship during the account opening and monthly screening processes
  Proper disposition of name screening alerts including Sanctions/PEP/Negative News
  Documentation of name screening assessment
  Gathering data and recording evidence from internal systems (internet, commercial databases and inquiry with account officers or Compliance contacts in the bank
  Reports unusual client findings which might relate to sanctioned individuals/entities, money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crimes
  Conducts alert investigation using tools, aimed at meeting internal and external regulatory requirements
  Building and applying knowledge of sanctions and anti-money laundering processes
Other adhoc tasks as assigned
Requirements
  Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, The USA PATRIOT Act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements and Suspicious Activity
  General understanding of Correspondent Banking and Money Services Businesses preferred

  Strong desire to proactively identify gaps/inefficiencies in existing processes and work towards resolving
  Experience with the Internet and on-line research systems on Sanctions or negative news research
  4-Year College Degree
Prior work experience in a financial institution with job specific work experience in AML and/or Sanctions
1 year experience in AML/OFAC name screening assessment
