FVP Senior Relationship Manager Middle Market Banking

(International bank located in Manhattan)

REPORTS TO: Team Leader & SVP, Middle Market Banking

1. Identify & originate new business relationships through the Bank’ s internal network and through external means such as networking, research and industry conferences. 2. Schedule and conduct prospect meetings with current and prospective clients to actively promote and sell products and services. 3. Appropriately structure and recommend credits for approval. 4. Monitor, on an ongoing basis, information concerning customer performance and industry to determine that loan is an acceptable risk. 5. Ensure the overall portfolio of relationships and transactions are in alignment with the risk profile of the bank. 6. Maintain primary relationship contact for a portfolio of customers. 7. Support other lines of business by cross selling Bank products and services. 8. Manage own portfolio of Middle Market borrowing accounts. 9. Proactively identify and manage deteriorating credit situations. 10. Effectively underwrite new and existing credits, identifying the creditworthiness, risks & mitigants of the borrower. 11. Present new and existing credits to Credit Committee of Senior Bank Management for approval and modification. 12. Demonstrate credit and non-credit product knowledge. 13. Effectively manage competing priorities, strategically aligning efforts and activities to meet goals and objectives. 14. Employ market/competitor awareness in relationship communication and business development opportunities. 15. Perform other duties, as assigned, which fall within scope of responsibility.

Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of Asset Based Lending with direct application to the Middle Market. Specialties in the apparel and textile business (desirable). Demonstrated ability to attract and retain new clients, develop customer relationships and cultivate referral sources. Strong credit and financial analysis skills. Knowledge of the competitive arena with established industry-wide contacts. Employ market/competitor awareness in relationship communication and business development opportunities. Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks. Possess a proven track record attesting to a history of exceptional salesmanship. Persevere despite major obstacles and setbacks. Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills; capable of applying these skills in the assessment of a potential opportunity from various technical points of view and clearly and succinctly conveying these views to a target audience. A skilled negotiator and deal-maker; able to structure and document all relevant agreements inclusive of administration, interpretation and controls. Highly analytical, prudent and thoughtful; capable of identifying leads and converting them into opportunities. Highly motivated, flexible and adaptable team player with an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat and Bloomberg.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIRED: Experience Needed: Minimum of 8 years’ experience with and emphasis in middle market banking (apparel and textiles financing experience desirable but not necessary). Education Required: Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Finance/Accounting/Economics. MBA desirable.
