Trade Settlement and Finance Officer-bilingual Chinese-Temp to Perm

To perform trade settlement and finance operations, monitor, analyze and ensure compliance with all related rules and regulations while providing maximum profitability to the bank with a minimum
of risk.

To issue, amend, advice, confirm and transfer Letters of Credit; examine and negotiate shipping documents; make payments and post accounting entries; and provide statistic reports to the
department head and Branch Senior Management.

1.  First and/or second-checking, as assigned, of import and export shipping documents to determine compliance with the UCP and international standard banking practice as well as
the related rules and regulations;
2.  Committed to comply with the related laws and regulations and strive to strengthen due diligence in conducting the trade finance business. Follow the BSA/AML/OFAC Policy
and conduct, review, analyze and/or verify, as assigned, to ensure compliance with the related rules and regulations. Prepare and verify check list;
3.  Prepare, and/or verify and/or sign off payments timely and accurately, as assigned, relevant to L/C negotiation/acceptance/discounting, export L/C Advice, import/export
financing and cover letters including mailed to the appropriate recipients/banks;
4.  Provide training to other staff, such as examination of trade and shipping documents, conduct World-Check and Google search;
5.  Post accounting entries to the Bank’s IBS system; ensure that transactions are properly recorded, assets are safeguarded, and financial statements are prepared in accordance with
proper accounting standards;
6.  Continuously update letters of credit files, performing all billing and accounting functions
including statistics reports and test/learn new system functions;
7.  Communicate with customers and with correspondent banks through SWIFT;
8. Provide assistance to the department head in special projects.

EDUCATION: College graduate or equivalent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of 1~2 years’ experience in the Trade Settlement function or at least 3 years of equivalent banking experience.
Competitive working knowledge of advising, confirming, issuing, paying
or negotiating various types of import, export and standby transactions
 Fluent in English and Chinese
