Our Client, a NYC Commercial Bank seeking a VP MM Lender to manage a mini team consisting of the Account Officer and Jr. Officer or Underwriter to (a) develop new business, (b) cross sell the bank' s products and services and (c) manage and monitor the credit process for accounts and prospects Job Description Help develop and then execute business plans and budgets that conform to the Group’ s goals and objective as well as the goals for the mini team. Spend approximately 60% of your time calling on prospects and customers to, identify needs, develop new business and cross selling the banks products. Most of such activity should be physical calls. Help establish deal teams. Manage and monitor of the selling of bank products to customers and prospects. Complete daily work for booking loans, checking overdrafts, uncollected and other reports as well as help manage customer inquiry with administrative assistants and Jr. account officers and underwriters. Delegate credit write ups, annual reviews, watch list write ups, etc. to Jr. account officers as well as Corporate Lending Underwriters. Train and review the work of the mini team members. Give input to performance reviews. Generate new business (existing and prospective) and cross sells individually and as a team to meet Group goals. Monitor and report on credit quality monthly and as required by management. Manage the timely renewal and extension of credit facilities Comply with all of the bank’ s and departments policies and procedures. Work on special projects as such is assigned. Ensure adherence to all auditing, compliance initiatives for the team as well as KYC/BSA/KYC, HR, requirements and make sure all on your team do such. Ensure timely receipt of all financial information, EOMs and field exams and analyze such. Competencies: BA preferably in finance, accounting or economics; MBA preferred; driver' s license. Formal credit training required Strong underwriting skills Minimum of 7 years of experience including 3 years as a relationship manager Experience in the apparel industry a strong plus. As a banker Dan started his career with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. as a management trainee in the International Funds Transfer Division.
