VICE PRESIDENT - HEAD OF RESIDENTIAL LENDING - MAJOR NEW JERSEY CREDIT UNION


Our client is one of New Jersey' s largest and fastest growing credit unions, with multiple, state of the art branches in central and northern New Jersey, and is seeking a dynamic, innovative leader to head its Residential Lending Division in a strong growth atmosphere.  

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position will serve as a key member of the management team. The VP of Residential Lending is responsible for researching and evaluating the feasibility of new and innovative residential lending products and delivery channels, for the purpose of increasing  loan penetration and growth. This includes responsibility for the overall profitability, management and strategic direction of the credit union' s mortgage product line. Responsibilities also include developing the objectives and strategy to ensure the highest level of market penetration, achievement of profit goals and control of credit risk for the line of business.

Coordinates and manages the daily activities of the Residential Lending Department ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures. Develops, administers and monitors all functions of the residential lending department including origination, processing, underwriting and closing; and collections.

  This position has oversight responsibility and accountability for loan underwriting and portfolio management, loan processing, loan production  and third-party relationships including coordinating and managing the daily activities of the Residential Lending Department ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include developing, administering and monitoring all functions of the residential lending department including origination, processing, underwriting and closing; while keeping up to date on all credit union products and services, policies and procedures, rules and regulations, industry news and lending trends.

Candidates should have five years or more experience in the residential lending business, including management experience; be an innovative and a strategic thinker, and have thorough knowledge of the business, sales, underwriting and regulations.

Jim Hinckley joins Adams Consulting Group with 32 years in the search and recruitment business, most recently as President and CEO of Hinckley Associates, which he established in 1994, later acquiring Allen Staffing Services. He entered the business in 1981 with The Fisher Organization as Director of the Banking and Finance Group. Prior to entering the recruitment field, he served in senior management positions with Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Fidelity Union Bancorporation. Jim brings years of search and recruitment experience, primarily in banking and financial services with a long and successful career in middle to senior management recruiting for a wide variety of financial institutions spanning from local community banks to the top global financial firms. Additionally, his specialty includes financial, administration and marketing positions in non-financial firms. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a major in accounting, and minors in finance and economics, and attended graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University with a major in marketing. Jim is also active in professional, charitable and civic organizations, and has served in government offices both elective and appointive, and serves as an officer and board member in several organizations.
