Commercial Loan Reviewer – Midtown Manhattan

In this position, you will perform loan file reviews for the various commercial loan portfolios. On an ad hoc basis, participates in other risk-related projects as needed. If you are meticulous with a keen eye for details this opportunity might be a fit!

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Perform credit file reviews to provide an independent analysis of credit quality, credit administration management and processes & controls of lending and credit risk management functions
  • Analyze & document assessment of borrower financial statements, collateral valuations and guarantor financial statements in addition to other qualitative factors to evaluate appropriateness of the credit risk rating for the respective commercial loan/lease transaction
  • Document and communicate findings & recommendations to Internal Loan Review Manager
  • Assist in sampling, addressing reviewer comments and preparing formal written final reports on a timely basis
  • As needed, perform research to identify industry developments, threats, changes in technology and market risk issues and make appropriate recommendations to management
  • Not involved with processes related to general ledger, cash, wire transfers or negotiable instruments

  • Minimum 5 years of related financial services experience, preferably including middle market commercial credit, CRE, C&I and Equipment Finance
  • Loan Review and/or Loan Underwriting experience is required
  • Formal credit training, audit or regulatory experience a plus
  • Practical industry and theoretical knowledge of credit behavior for loan products
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain and retain the confidence and respect of professionals at various levels
  • High School diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related field preferred
