Vice President Head of  Deposit Operations - Major Central New Jersey Financial Institution

This  is a strong financial institution with nearly $500 million in assets, with approximately 100 employees.  It' s long established and one of the fastest growing and well respected   institutions servicing both the consumer and business markets in the state.

A challenging opportunity currently exists for a dynamic person to head all deposit related functions in this growing organization, playing a major role in the continuing growth and expansion of the organization.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

Manages all aspects of the retail banking operations functions including policies, procedures and operational training (including systems).   
  • Oversee servicing of new and existing checking, savings, IRA and certificate accounts including the return and exception item processing function, account research, escheat reporting & remittance, wire transfers

  • Oversee managing the system data integrity and file maintenance for all accounts and members and directing the management of the ATM and Debit Card deliverables as well as retail internet banking.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with the coordination and implementation of policies, procedures and regulatory/compliance 
  • Proven experience in exercising judgment over critical and material matters and thorough knowledge of retail banking operations   with a basic understanding of accounting is essential  to read, interpret and absorb technical information associated with the position,

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee the core deposit applications, ACH, ATM, card transaction processing, Wire Transfer, escheat reporting/remittance, account research, Website, Internet banking, RDC (Remote Deposit Capture,   fraud/risk, and communications functions.
  • Oversight of the Overdraft Protection Program ensuring program compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Ensure strong support to both branch personnel and member base in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure Retail Operations manual and the sections of the Teller/Branch Operations Manual are prepared and maintained, supported and trained.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new products and services.
  • Review functions performed
  • Respond to hardware, software, network, user, and communications problems.
  • Assist in the procurement of new systems

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years experience in Retail banking operations is preferred with two (2) years experience with ACH/ATM/MasterCard Debit Card, regulatory compliance, other retail operational experience a plus and a minimum of two (2) years experience in a management capacity with responsibility for direct employee oversight.

Education:

College Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

He entered the business in 1981 with The Fisher Organization as Director of the Banking and Finance Group. Prior to entering the recruitment field, he served in senior management positions with Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Fidelity Union Bancorporation. Jim brings years of search and recruitment experience, primarily in banking and financial services with a long and successful career in middle to senior management recruiting for a wide variety of financial institutions spanning from local community banks to the top global financial firms. Additionally, his specialty includes financial, administration and marketing positions in non-financial firms. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a major in accounting, and minors in finance and economics, and attended graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University with a major in marketing. Jim is also active in professional, charitable and civic organizations, and has served in government offices both elective and appointive, and serves as an officer and board member in several organizations.
