Junior Credit Analyst

 

 

An expanding  community bank based in Bronx, NY is seeking a Credit Analyst. Qualified candidates should be able to analyze and process financial statements, credit reports, and credit requests for conventional, SBA 7(a), 504, and Express loans. Day to day duties include the review of credit packages, completion of transaction spreads and financial analysis, preparation of credit presentations, credit modifications, and letters of intent.

Responsibilities:

Ensure proper underwriting for all Conventional and SBA loans. Evaluate loan requests, using a thorough knowledge of loan policy, guidelines, procedures and SBA standard operating procedures;
Analyze the financial condition of existing and prospective bank customers. Accurately review financial statements and tax returns submitted by applicants and is capable of evaluating borrower’ s repayment ability;
Experience with preparation of financial projections, spreading financial statements and preparation of written analysis reports;
Seeks alternative means of financing or counter offers for all borrowers, if appropriate, when it is determined that the original request cannot be accommodated;
Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer and credit information; and
May facilitate reporting and requests on behalf of the Bank with third parties, e.g. appraisers, etc.
Orders reports such as business or personal credit reports, background investigations, etc.

Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of commercial underwriting experience. Formal credit training is a plus;
Requires sound understanding of commercial credit analysis techniques including cash flow, evaluation of collateral and is able to make timely decisions in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
Strong organization and time-management skills, attention to detail with high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work independently;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
Computer skills: Thorough knowledge of Word and Excel.
