Intermediate to Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)



Reports To:Manager-Development

Job Purpose

As a Software Engineer will work as part of a deeply interconnected team to develop high quality, robust and modular software. Our environment is typically casual and fun, but everyone on the team is expected to always be learning and improving together. In a more senior role, you will be expected to collaborate with non-technical people inside and outside of the company to meet customer and market needs.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new software and enhancements to existing software
  • Gather requirements, maintain specifications, write clear and well thought-out documentation
  • Extensively test with an eye toward a high degree of reliability
  • Troubleshooting and debugging of problems local and in production systems
  • Always learning and growing with the team
  • Discretion in sharing private company information

  • Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds
  • Drive to learn and continuously improve
  • Excellent attention to detail, Well organized and self-motivated
  • Can make appropriate tradeoffs in delivering software under tight deadlines
  • Experience with relational databases and complex SQL queries
  • Competence with Source Control and Continuous Integration
  • Significant Experience with .NET and/or JVM
  • Proficient in Modern JavaScript Development (Single Page Applications)

Qualifications/ Nice to Have Skills
  • Any Experience with F# or a Functional Programming Language
  • UX Design and CSS Layout
  • Design and Implementation of Network Services and APIs
  • Developing/Maintaining REST APIs
  • Continuous Deployment (with Containerization, Docker)

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 2+ years? Experience as a Software Engineer or Equivalent Role

Working Conditions
  • Work is in an office environment, sustained posture in a seated positon for prolonged periods of time; works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to travel as needed. Travel limited to locations in Mineola, NY and Empire State Building, NYC as well as to clients in the U.S. and Internationally as needed
  • This position typically reports to a supervisor
