Assistant to the CFO

Our client a boutique firm created with a team approach to the business of law. Our professional staff plays an integral role in ensuring the uppermost quality of service it provides its clients, while focusing on the highest of ethical standards and teamwork…you succeed, we succeed.

We are seeking a candidate that wants to learn from the ground up, looking for a law firm/finance career. The right person could grow into a managerial position. If you want a career instead of a job, and if you like numbers, this is the position for you.

  • Prepare system bills for clients which includes printing draft statements, transferring time, revising figures, executing text corrections, write-offs
  • Distribute bills to attorneys for edits, receive edits and enter into system
  • Record changes in the financial system to relieve proper time and disbursement amounts, i.e. transfers, write-offs, etc.
  • Verify that amounts to be recorded as billed are identical to amounts on the client statement
  • Contact CFO for clarification on unusual requests as needed
  • Complete processes required to update all bills as outlined by CFO
  • Assist in educating attorneys and support staff in billing procedures as necessary
  • Set up and maintain client billing summary spreadsheets as needed
  • Oversee supplies inventory and place bi-monthly orders
  • Respond to requests for ad hoc special projects


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • General accounting/finance background preferred but not required
  • 2-3 years of recent and related law firm billing experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient in MS Office including formatting of documents
  • Meticulous work practice
  • Excellent organizational, listening and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with lawyers, support staff and clients
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
