Data Warehouse Design Consultant

located in Manhattan

Duration: 2 month

Job Description:

Responsible for the requirement analysis and documentation for the central data warehouse design, including gathering the data needs from users for data aggregation and reporting purposes, and design the data architecture and data model. This central data warehouse is designed to fulfil the RDA regulatory requirements and improve the Bank’s data aggregation capabilities and reporting practices.

  • Write the business requirements document for the central data warehouse design, e.g. data architecture, data model and data needs by the business and risk management
  • Design the database architecture and data model for the central data warehouse that can improve data aggregation capabilities and reporting practices
  • Analyze the various existing database and systems and identify solutions for data integration, reconciliation and cleansing across the Bank to understand their data and reporting needs and/or issues
  • Work with IT to propose strategic and feasible database solutions
  • Engage in the selection of third party vendors for the system/database and evaluate their competency and suitability
  • Reporting line and team structure: reporting to the dept. head, and support the RDA program manager in all RDA activities

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field
  • 10 + years’ experience working in IT or data architecture filed
  • Deep knowledge and extensive skills in database design, modeling, warehousing, development, and management
  • Knowledge in established and emerging data management and reporting technologies
  • Ability to write business requirements documents or functional requirements documents
  • Familiar with the system development life cycle and software project management approaches
  • Computer programming and software skills with programs such as MS Excel, Access, SQL, Business Objects software, XML, SOA, ETL, BI, ERP or Agile
  • Strong communication skills, and organizational skills
  • Certified Data Management Professional and other data architecture related certification preferred
