Job Title: Sales Manager/Manager of Retail Sales
Immediate Supervisor: CEO
Location: Remote and NYC Office

Our client, a high end food distributor, importer, and manufacturer is seeking a Sales Manager to takeover and increase sales to current accounts and increase sales through retail and broker channels. This is a great opportunity for an innovative candidate to help identify new markets and opportunities to grow the business. Our client’s product line includes but is not limited to Truffles, Seafood, Oil, Chocolates, Cheese, Spices, as well as many other products.

Candidate MUST HAVE experience:
  • At least 5 years working in the food industry and possess knowledge of food products
  • Existing relationships to food buyers and brokers
  • Ability to present brands and company
  • Ability to grow the retail business with new initiatives and product ideas
  • Be able to work and manage current retail sales representative.

Experience with the following products are NICE TO HAVE:
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Caviar
  • Truffle products
  • Olive oils
  • High end tuna and anchovies.

General Accountabilities
  • In person meetings, telemarketing and on-line marketing to accounts to introduce products and gain sales
  • Build relationships with brokers and buyers
  • Identify new markets and accounts
  • Takeover, manage and grow existing retail accounts
  • Assist operations, including but not limited to, orders, logistics, invoicing
  • Work closely and manage retail assistant
  • Work closely with the warehouse/purchasing manager on projection and inventory forecasts 
  • Follow-up and manage all existing business of accounts and breaking new accounts
  • Prepare and manage accounts utilizing company computer software programs and processes 
  • Secures payment or obtains credit authorization 
  • Uses database to check inventory, pricing, account designations and research availability of merchandise
  • Help to identify new products 
  • Complete all sales reporting requests from management in a thorough and timely manner 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. 

Compensation based on a base salary plus commission
